Here’s the Gears of War: Judgment E3 2012 trailer

As promised, here’s the Gears of War: Judgment trailer that Microsoft debuted at their E3 2012 Press Conference. It’s being developed by People Can Fly and it’s full of all the explosions and big, muscular guys in power armor you could ask for.

Gears of War: Judgment will be available for the Xbox 360 next year, and judging by the tags applied by Microsoft to the YouTube video, it may arrive with Kinect support.

MS @ E3 12: Gears of War: Judgment coming next year

Microsoft just showed the debut trailer for Gears of War: Judgment at their E3 Press Conference. The game is looking pretty sharp as we see Augustus “Cole Train” Cole and Damon Baird lay waste to a whole horde of Locust.

We’ll have the trailer up soon, but we did learn that Gears of War: Judgment will launch sometime in 2013.

Game Informer reveals Gears of War: Judgment early

Game Informer promised to reveal the first details of the next Gears of War game on Monday, during Microsoft’s E3 2012 Press Conference.

But it looks like they’ve jumped the gun a bit, revealing the new game will be titled Gears of War: Judgment and that it’ll be a prequel set more than a decade before the first game.

According to the magazine, Judgment will star younger versions of Augustus “Cole Train” Cole and Damon Baird during their days in Kilo Squad. Two additional teammates (never-before-seen in Gears lore) will be joining them and IGN got the scoop from an anonymous source:

Baird, Cole, Garron, and Sofia — the four members of Gears of War: Judgment’s Kilo Squad — have been “charged for treason because they didn’t follow orders, stole equipment, and their actions could end up killing millions of people they swore to protect.

So it’s like The A-Team? Guess we’ll find out tomorrow.

People Can Fly developing next Gears of War game

People Can Fly, the team behind last year’s underloved shooter Bulletstorm, have been named as the developer of the next Gears of War game.

Taking to Twitter, Mike Capps, President of Epic Games, had this to say about the game’s development:

RT “@stephentotilo: @adrianchm Do I detect People Can Fly involvement?” YES YES YES!

While it’s possible this is a fakeout, People Can Fly have been rumored to be involved with a “Gears of War prequel” for a while now. But we’ll find out for sure this Monday during Microsoft’s E3 2012 Press Conference.

Game Informer will unveil new Gears of War game next week

On Monday, the game industry will gather together to celebrate the start of this year’s E3 Expo. But we will also spend next Monday frantically reloading GameInformer.com to get a peek at the next Gears of War game.

The untitled game will grace the cover of the July 2012 issue, which as you can see, is shrouded in mystery. A shadowy figure is being lead (in handcuffs) down a dark corridor as Sera burns behind him.

The first details (including the title and, hopefully, a release date) will be unveiled during Microsoft’s E3 Press Conference on Monday. But Game Informer was able to reveal that the game is definitely in development for the Xbox 360.

But the one thing the magazine didn’t do was refer to the game as “Gears of War 4,” which has made the Internet’s collective mind scream “prequel!” And as you know, a certain Gears of War main character did spend a long time in prison before the start of the first game.
