Burnout Paradise Remastered, Tesla Vs Lovecraft, Surviving Mars, more added to Xbox Store
Twisted wreckage and meticulous city-building highlight today’s Xbox Games Store update…
Electronic Arts and Criterion made a return trip to Paradise City today with the Xbox One launch of Burnout Paradise Remastered. The racer will include all previously-released downloadable content, as well as enhanced visuals (1080p on Xbox One and up to 4K on Xbox One X).
Also available to download for the Xbox One today is Tesla Vs Lovecraft, an overhead shooter that pits the famed inventor against the creator of the Cthulhu Mythos. But the tales of the Old Ones aren’t fiction in this game, as Tesla will need to suit up in a giant mech and do battle against “massive amounts of eldritch abominations.”
Finally today, Paradox Interactive and Haemimont Games have released their sci-fi city-builder, Surviving Mars, for the Xbox One.
You can learn more about the rest of today’s additions to the Xbox Games Store (including Aero Fighters 3 and Vicious Attack Llama Apocalypse) after the break. (more…)
The 25th Ward: The Silver Case, Tesla Vs Lovecraft, Surviving Mars, more coming to PS Store this week
Sony added another big batch of new games to the PlayStation Store, and fans of the PS3’s heyday should be on the lookout for two big re-releases.
But first, NIS America and Goichi “Suda51” Suda will bring The 25th Ward: The Silver Case to the PS4 in an updated edition. Originally released for mobile phones, and only in Japan, the game’s PS4 debut is also the first time it’ll be available in North America.
Nikola Tesla famously feuded with Thomas Edison, but the inventor will tangle with a very different foe in Tesla Vs Lovecraft. Developed by 10Tons, the PS4 game is a top-down twin-stick shooter that asks players to jump in a mech and do battle with the “inhuman minions” from H.P. Lovecraft’s stories.
Also this week, Paradox Interactive and Haemimont Games will bring Surviving Mars to the PS4. The city-building simulation transports the action to the Red Planet and asks players to build a colony habitable for human life.
Finally this week, two PS3 classics will be enhanced for a PS4 re-release. Electronic Arts will bring back the wide-open racing of Burnout Paradise Remastered, and Capcom will package together the first three games from the Devil May Cry franchise for a Devil May Cry HD Collection.
You can learn more about the rest of this week’s additions to the PlayStation Store after the break. (more…)
New Retail Releases: Kirby Star Allies, Surviving Mars, The 25th Ward: The Silver Case, More
A handful of re-releases and the return of Nintendo’s pink puffball take center stage in this week’s New Retail Releases report…
Kirby will make his Switch debut this week in Kirby Star Allies. The side-scrolling platformer includes drop-in/drop-out multiplayer for up to four players, and Kirby will be able to unleash brand new Friend Abilities against the game’s colorful foes. Speaking of things that are colorful, fans of city-building sims will be able to colonize the Red Planet this week in Haemimont’s Surviving Mars for the PS4 and Xbox One.
And if you’re looking to give a classic game from yesteryear a second chance, you’ll have plenty of opportunities this week. Capcom will bring Devil May Cry HD Collection to the PS4 and Xbox One. Electronic Arts and Criterion will hit the gas on Burnout Paradise Remastered for the PS4 and Xbox One. And NIS America will bring Suda51’s The 25th Ward: The Silver Case to North America for the first time on the PS4.
Finally this week, Nintendo will relaunch Splatoon 2 as the Splatoon 2: Starter Edition. It’ll include the original game for the Switch, as well as guide book, and a sticker sheet.

Burnout Paradise Remastered will race onto PS4, Xbox One in March; PC launch will hit the gas “later this year”
Electronic Arts want fans of the Burnout franchise to pack their bags, because they’ve got two tickets to paradise, and you can leave in just three weeks…
The publisher has announced that Burnout Paradise Remastered will be released for the PS4 and Xbox One on March 16. The re-release will include all eight DLC packs (Big Surf Island, Cops & Robbers, Legendary Cars, Bikes, Toys, Party, Boost, and the Cagney Update), as well as support for 4K visuals at 60 frames per second on the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X.
In 2008, the original Burnout Paradise came roaring off the starting line ready to demolish the competition. Featuring breakneck racing, high-flying stunts, and — most importantly — shameless amounts of automotive destruction, Burnout Paradise set the bar for what an action racing game could be. And now, ten years later, it’s back and ready to show a new generation of consoles the true definition of a “smash hit.”
Burnout Paradise Remastered will also be released for the PC sometime later this year. But for now, everyone can watch the game’s first trailer, which has been embedded above.
