This weekend marks the tenth anniversary of the release of the original God of War, and Sony is celebrating with a “God of War Games Done Quick” speedrunning competition to help support the AbleGamers Foundation. The speedrun competition is now well underway, but Sony had one more surprise for us… God of War III Remastered will be released for the PS4 on July 14. This action packed thrill ride of a game will take series newcomers and regulars alike on a retina-popping thrill ride filled to the absolute brim with 1080p gameplay, silky smooth combat, earth-shaking weapons, bosses you simply have to face to believe, and an all-new new photo mode so you can share those most tender of God of War moments, like stabbing a Minotaur in the frickin face, with your friends and loved ones.
Barlog, and his team at Sony Santa Monica, are also hard at work on God of War 4, which was announced at last year’s PlayStation Experience. Perhaps God of War III Remastered is a way for the developer to refamiliarize himself with the franchise?
