Originally announced last year as Assassin’s Creed: Victory, Ubisoft officially unveiled the next Assassin’s Creed game as Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate today. Set in Victorian London, the game will star Jacob and Evie Frye, siblings and Assassins.
The Frye siblings will have a completely new arsenal of weapons at their disposal including a grappling hook, a kukri knife, brass knuckles, and a sword cane. In addition to controlling both twins, players will also be able to command the strongest gang in the London underworld as they bring new meaning to the phrase “class warfare”:
Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate is an epic single player experience set in London during the height of the Industrial Revolution, an incredible age of invention that transforms the lives of millions. During this time, the gap between the poor and the rich expands exponentially, making workers’ lives little more than legalized slavery. The lower classes fight for survival by forming a new kind of family – gangs — and adapting to a life in the underworld. Players will embody both Jacob Frye and Evie Frye, twin Assassins raised to follow the Creed. Jacob, a determined, hot-headed and rebellious leader of an underground gang, is vastly different than his sister Evie, a master of stealth and control. Together, Jacob and Evie team up to challenge rivals, plutocrats and Templars alike to free the masses from poverty and corruption, and ultimately wrestle back control of London.
In development at Ubisoft Quebec, Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate will be released for the PC, PS4, and Xbox One on October 23. But in the more immediate future, a nine-minute gameplay trailer is available after the break to give players an even more in-depth look at the game.
