It’s time to check in with some classic characters in this week’s Nintendo Download.
After 30 years and more than a dozen games, the cast of characters from the Legend of Zelda franchise has reached massive proportions… and nearly all of them make an appearance in the 3DS re-release of Hyrule Warriors. Now known as Hyrule Warriors Legends, the portable game introduces several new characters (including Linkle, Link’s female counterpart) and a new level based on The Wind Waker. It’ll be available through the 3DS eShop beginning tomorrow.
Elsewhere on the 3DS eShop, a trio of Super NES classics are now available to download for the New 3DS. Donkey Kong Country is one of the most visually impressive side-scrollers of the 90s; Super Mario Kart started the whole kart racing genre; and EarthBound is a great RPG that’s even more beloved today.
If you’re looking for a new game for your Wii U, have no fear, more classic characters are here. Yoshi’s Nintendo 64 adventure, Yoshi’s Story, is now available through the Wii U eShop. As is, Shantae: Risky’s Revenge Director’s Cut, WayForward’s hair-raising side-scroller.

Shantae: Risky’s Revenge Director’s Cut – Shantae: Risky’s Revenge Director’s Cut brings hair-whipping, belly-dancing action to the Wii U console. The most popular game in the Shantae series now has HD illustrations, a Magic Mode Costume, and new Warp System.
Yoshi’s Story – Baby Bowser has taken the Super Happy Tree and put a spell on Yoshi Island. In this charming Nintendo 64 game, it’s up to a few remaining Yoshi characters to restore everything to its rightful place as they run, ground-pound, flutter-jump, throw eggs and traverse a colorful storybook-looking world. Complete a course in Story Mode, and then best your high score in Trial Mode.
Infinity Runner – The Infinity is the largest spaceship ever built by man-kind; flung into the void of space to secure humanity a new home amongst the stars. However, instead of discovering paradise, the inhabitants of The Infinity unlocked the door to a long forgotten nightmare. Deep inside this leviathan something terrible hunts, out of myth and legend the last werewolf stalks the ship. Infinity Runner centres on a prisoner desperately trying to escape the decaying ship and the clutches of the terror within. In Infinity Runner, the player controls the protagonist, the prisoner, from a first-person perspective as he is challenged to escape from the gargantuan spaceship.
