There aren’t many games coming out this month, but we at Warp Zoned are passionate about the few that are! The Last Guardian and Super Mario Run are two we can agree on, though there are also a few others we’re looking forward to as well. Hit the jump to see what we’ll be playing for the month of December!

After testing the mobile waters with Miitomo, Nintendo is jumping in to the deep end this month with Super Mario Run… and I cannot wait to try it. Mario has endured as a character for nearly four decades because Nintendo has rarely steered the red-suited plumber wrong. And I don’t think they’re going to start now. Especially with something as practically foolproof as a Mario-themed endless runner.
I’m also looking forward to Dead Rising 4 because the franchise’s inventive weapon system has always been great fun, and the Christmastime setting is certainly unique. Plus, I’m sure it’ll help me get out some of my pent-up rage over the hassle of holiday shopping.
Finally this month, Supergiant Games will re-release Bastion on the Xbox One. Even though I’ve played through Bastion multiple times since its original release in 2011, one more time sounds like a good time.

December is all about The Last Guardian. I want to say I care about anything else, but I don’t. I don’t care about the backlog I have. I don’t care about any work I have left to do for the month. I don’t care about all the books I want to read now that my classes are done. All I care about is playing this final game in a series I find so precious.
See you in January!

The Last Guardian. Although I was hugely frustrated by the controls in Shadow of the Colossus – cult classic it may be, but the controls are truly shocking – I have a morbid curiosity about this game, having languished so long in development hell only to escape when everyone had written it off as a urban myth.
Also, my girlfriend is buying Super Mario Run because I don’t have an iPhone AND I CANNOT WAIT TO PLAY IT!!!

The only December game I am interested in is A New Frontier, the third season of Telltale’s The Walking Dead. The first two seasons were amazing, and I can’t wait to see where Clementine’s story winds up this month. I tell you, if anything happens to her, I’m gonna lose it.
