The Sultan of Swat slugs again in MLB The Show 18. Sony recently unveiled the first gameplay trailer for their annual baseball simulation, and George Herman “Babe” Ruth made a very impressive entrance in the final seconds. And according to a post from the development team on the PlayStation Blog, Ruth won’t be the only new Legend to be included in the game.
But Sony San Diego has bigger plans beyond the Great Bambino, MLB The Show 18 will also include a number of new features when it launches for the PS4 on March 27:
MLB The Show 18: New Features
- Expansion of Road to the Show
- Dynamic Crowds like “Judge’s Chambers”
- New Unique Home Run Celebrations
- Revamped Hitting Engine with improved physics
- Rewritten Player Tagging System
- Over 1,000 new Gameplay Animations
- More Legends
With less than two months to go before Opening Day, the development team has also mapped out an ambitious Twitch livestreaming schedule, and plan to tease more details about MLB The Show 18 every few days until launch. The series kicks off this Thursday, February 8, and will include updates to major modes as well as “a new feature the community’s been demanding for years.”
What is it? I guess you’ll have to tune in and find out.
