Sony @ E3 14: The Last of Us Remastered hits stores on July 29
After months of speculation, Sony finally announced a release date for the PS4 version of the hit title The Last of Us. The “Remastered” version of the game will be released in less than two months – on July 29th.
If you’re like me and haven’t played the original – don’t hate – then you have no reason not to pick up The Last of Us then.
Sony @ E3 14: PS4 original programming show Powers announced
Not just happy with showing video games, Sony showed off an original show, Powers, a television show based on the popular graphic novel.
Powers is a show about homicide detectives that work cases specifically centered around superpowers. Think of it as “Law and Order: Dead Super Heroes Unit.” The show is being run by Brian Michael Bendis, the creator of the original comic series, so expect it to stay very true to the source material.
More info will be dropped throughout the Summer. The show itself will hit the PS4 this December.
Sony @ E3 14: PlayStation TV announced for North America
Sony announced an American release for their set-top Vita console (as PlayStation TV) during their E3 Press Conference today. The base hardware is priced at $99, or you can pick up a $139 bundle which includes the Vita version of The Lego Movie Video Game, an 8GB memory card, a DualShock 3, and an HDMI cable.
No release date was given, so stay tuned for more info.
Sony @ E3 14: Upload PS4 videos to YouTube soon
PS4’s broadcasting feature is about to get even better. Soon, you will be able soon upload your videos to YouTube to be seen by anyone and not just your Facebook friends. Pressing the Share button will send the stream straight to your YouTube channel.
Sony will also add more features to the interactive portion of the PS4’s stream capabilities, so you’ll be able to help or hinder the stream you’re watching.
Sony @ E3 14: No Man’s Sky announced
Yet another exclusive game announced, No Man’s Sky will hit the PS4 in the near future.
Developed by Hello Games, every player will spawn on their own planet – no two people will have their own planet. The game is heavy on exploration and space battles, and appears to have a very deep multiplayer experience.
Sony @ E3 14: Grim Fandango remastered announced, PS4/Vita exclusive
Another surprise announcement during the Sony E3 Press Conference was a remastering of Tim Schaefer’s classic Grim Fandango!
Not much was shown on the title other than some art, but that’s all it needed to drive the audience to mad applause. Grim Fandango will be available exclusively for the PS4 and Vita.
Sony @ E3 14: Dead Island 2 announced
Another title revealed during Sony’s presser was Dead Island 2 for the PS4.
Keeping with the tradition of awesome Dead Island trailers, this one showcased a jogger listening to music on his headphones, completely oblivious to the chaos that is erupting all around him. It’s hilarious. And we’ll be sure to post it later this week.
Dead Island 2 (which is technically the third Dead Island game, but who’s counting?) will also feature a 30-day beta exclusive to PS4. More details on that will be revealed in the future.
Sony @ E3 14: Far Cry 4 single-copy multiplayer announced
A huge announcement for Far Cry 4! in addition to unveiling an awesome gameplay demo, Sony announced that you will only need one copy of the game in order to play the game’s two-player co-op mode online!
This goes for both the PS3 and PS4 versions of the game, and is Sony-exclusive.
