Daily Scoop: February 3, 2015 – So cold

Seriously, it is so cold right now. I am not the kind of person who longs to live in a warmer climate – in fact, I really enjoy having four seasons. But it’s weeks like this one that make me want to throw the diverseness of seasons to the wind and move somewhere warmer. Like, I don’t know, the surface of the sun.

Let’s talk about the brand new Star Wars Humble Bundle! Pay what you want for Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic, Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy, and Star Wars: Dark Forces. Beat the average to unlock Star Wars Battlefront II, Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords, and Star Wars Republic Commando. Pay $12 or more to unlock Star Wars Empire at War: Gold Pack, Star Wars the Force Unleashed: Ultimate Sith Edition, and Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II.

There are some new deals at Steam as well. The Midweek Madness is early access to Prison Architect, which is on sale for $7.49. And the Daily Deal is Strike Vector, which you can pick up for just $2.99.

There were a lot of shirts yesterday, but today there are only two! (more…)

Daily Scoop: February 2, 2015 – Happy Groundhog’s Day!

It’s Groundhog’s Day here in the states, and that little bugger is predicting six more weeks of winter. Honestly, I wouldn’t say that’s surprising to any of us, seeing as so many of my friends are currently snowed in. All we got here in Philadelphia was a little snow and a ton of rain, making everything a slushy mess. It’s depressing.

But what isn’t depressing are today’s deals! There’s a new Humble Mobile Bundle, and this one’s all Cartoon Network Games! Pay what you want for Regular Show: Best Park in the Universe, Regular Show: Ghost Toasters, Regular Show: Ride ‘Em Rigby, and Adventure Time: Treasure Fetch. Beat the average to unlock Regular Show: The Great Prank War, Adventure Time: Jumping Finn Turbo, CN Superstar Soccer, and Ski Safari: Adventure Time. Pay $8 or more to unlock Monsters Ate My Birthday Cake (a super awesome game!), Adventure Time: Time Tangle, and The Powerpuff Girls: Defenders of Townsville. It’s worth it for MAMBC alone!

There are 83 new games on sale in the Weeklong Deals section at Steam, including Lucius for $1.99, Crimsonland for $5.59, and Blade Symphony for $7.49. And there’s never been a better time to pick up Torchlight II. As the Daily Deal, it’s on sale for $3.99. Scoop it up!

And now, it’s t-shirt time! (more…)

Daily Scoop: January 30, 2015 – Time for the weekend

It’s Friday, which means it’s almost time for our break from the work week! I’ve got games piled on top of games at home, and I can’t wait to dive into them. Dying Light has been especially fun, despite my inability to do parkour (in real life or video game life).

There’s a brand new Humble Weekly Bundle, and it’s all Made in Spain! Pay what you want for Nihilumbra, Spy Chameleon: RGB Agent, and AR-K. Beat the average to unlock Full Mojo Rampage and Deadlight. Pay $10 or more to unlock Pixel Piracy and UnEpic.

The Weekend Deal at Steam is all about Lego games! Get LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham Premium Edition for $22.49, and the season pass for just $7.49. Don’t want the premium version? Get the regular one for $14.99. The LEGO Batman Trilogy is $20, and… well… lots of others! The Daily Deal is Never Alone, which is $8.99.

Let’s see what the final t-shirts of the week are… (more…)

Daily Scoop: January 29, 2015 – Free games are the best games

Free stuff is obviously the best. Right now, you can get two free card games via the Humble BundleCard City Nights and Escape from the Aliens in Outer Space. And that incredible card game bundle is still going, which you should definitely pick up as soon as possible.

Speaking of free, if you have a PlayStation Plus account, they’ve just announced the free games of February. You can nab Apotheon and Transistor for PS4, Thief and Yakuza 4 for PS3, and Kick & Fennick and Rogue Legacy for the Vita. That’s a pretty good haul!

The Weekend Deal at Steam right now is Ryse: Son of Rome for $19.99. Their Daily Deal today is Hearts of Iron III, which is on sale for $2.49.

Finally, at Indie Royale, they’ve got the Plug-In Digital Bundle. Beat the average to get Raiden Legacy, The Return, The Mysterious Cities of Gold: Secret Paths, Soldier vs. Aliens, Rage Runner, Type Rider, T.E.C. 3000, Meltdown, Mechanic Escape, Triblaster, and World War One: Centennial.

Daily Scoop: January 28, 2015 – Last chance for Story Bundle

Video Game V is running out of time over at Story Bundle, so pick it up while you can! I’m personally getting it for Boss Fight Books: Super Mario Bros. 2, but I want to read them all.

Speaking of all the things, you might want every deal in the Humble sale. TRI is $7.47, Skilltree Saga is $3.99, and early access to Armello is $19.99.

The Midweek Madness at Steam is Telltale’s The Walking Dead: Season 2 for $6.24. Not caught up yet? Pick up season 1 for $6.24 while you’re at it. The Daily Deal is early access to Starbound. One copy will cost you $11.24, but four copies will be just $33.74. Scoop ’em up!

Daily Scoop: January 27, 2015 – Blizzard dud

No, I’m not talking about the company, I’m talking about this epic snowstorm we were supposed to get. It turned out to be a major disappointment! I was hoping for a lovely day of hot chocolate and video games, with occasional glances out the window at the winter beauty. Instead, the snow is nearly gone already. Boo!

Over at Steam, their Midweek Madness deal is the wonderful Portal 2! Get one copy of the game for $4.99, or two copies for $8.74 (so you can play co-op!). Get it bundled with the first game for $6.24. The Daily Deal is Minimum, which is on sale for just $2.49. You can also get the Team Pack for $8.74, which gives you five copies of the game.

Don’t forget about that Humble Sale! There are lots of games on this list, like Tristoy for $14.99, Infinity Runner for $2.99, and Point Perfect for $2.49.

And, of course, there are always t-shirts… (more…)
