Nintendo Download: Paper Mario Sticker Star (on Sunday), Pokedex 3D Pro, more

Welcome to your weekly dose of new Nintendo Downloads. Here’s what you’ll be able to download today (and one game on Sunday):

Paper Mario: Sticker Star (3DS eShop) – Available Sunday, November 11. When an accident scatters stickers across the land, Mario sets off on an adventure to repair a torn world. Searching Forests, Deserts and Mountains, Mario collects stickers to solve puzzles and battle monsters. Flatten characters, roll out towns and walk through living, breathing dioramas.

Pokedex 3D Pro (3DS eShop) – The Pokedex 3D Pro application is an upgraded version of the original Pokédex 3D application, exclusively available in the Nintendo eShop for $14.99. It includes detailed information about more than 640 Pokemon from the Pokemon video game series. The Pokedex 3D Pro application also includes in-depth sorting, comparison and ranking tools, as well as comprehensive details about the moves each Pokemon can learn, and how and when each Pokemon evolves.

Johnny Hotshot (3DS eShop) – After being warped into the world of one of Johnny’s favorite arcade games, Cowboy Hotshot, Johnny must take on the role of sheriff and purge the town of the bandits led by Mr. Wang!

Dress To Play: Cute Witches! (3DS eShop) – Make a little witch and design her outfit in the dressing room. When you finish, get ready to set off on an adventure as your character flies away on her broomstick to a peaceful world inhabited by fantasy characters.

New Releases: Halo 4, LittleBigPlanet Karting, NASCAR Inside Line, More

You finished the fight, but now he’s back! The Master Chief returns to the Xbox 360 this week in Halo 4, the first game in the series not developed by Bungie (it was actually created at Microsoft’s 343 Industries).

So who will stand against the mighty Master Chief? Believe it or not, a pair of racing games. Sony is bringing LittleBigPlanet Karting to the PS3 this week and Activision will release the multiplatform NASCAR: Inside Line (PS3, Wii, Xbox 360).

Also available this week is a quartet of compilations: Namco Bandai’s Dragon Ball Z Budokai HD Collection (PS3, Xbox 360), the Rockstar Games Collection: Edition 1 (PS3, Xbox 360), BioWare’s Mass Effect Trilogy (PC, Xbox 360), and THQ’s Saints Row: The Third – The Full Package (PS3, Xbox 360).

Nintendo Download: Freakyforms Deluxe, 2 Fast 4 Gnomz, more

Today’s Thursday and that means another round of Nintendo downloads:

2 Fast 4 Gnomz (3DS eShop) – Four brave gnomes venture on a journey so epic, they don’t even know where they’re going. Join Bumb, Berzerk, Speedster and Uncle Time as they run, fly, bounce, glide and break their way through the magical lands of Gnomia to reach their mysterious destiny.

Spot It! Mean Machines (DSiWare) – In “Spot It! Mean Machines”, players race the clock to find the hidden objects in cleverly arranged scenes. The puzzles are based on the popular “Spot-It!” book series published by Capstone Press. See how many objects you can spot in 10 different puzzles. Vibrant graphics make spotting objects fun and challenging.

Cake Ninja 2 (DSiWare) – Slice and dice cakes.

Nintendo also plans to add Freakyforms Deluxe: Your Creations, Alive! to the 3DS eShop (and retail store shelves) on Monday, November 5…

Freakyforms Deluxe: Your Creations, Alive! (3DS eShop) – Create wacky creatures called “formees” and bring them to life on your Nintendo 3DS system to populate your very own planet. Choose from more than 600 different forms to complete your creation. The choices you make will determine what abilities your formee will have and how it will move around the world.

Nintendo Download: NightSky, Liberation Maiden, New Super Mario Bros. 2 DLC, more

Welcome to one of the biggest Nintendo Downloads ever. Level-5 (creator of the Professor Layton series) and Nicalis (creator of Cave Story) both have new games available that may be worth a look.

Liberation Maiden is an arcade shooter developed by Level-5 in conjunction with Suda 51’s Grasshopper Manufacture and is available today on the 3DS eShop. Also available to download from the eShop today is Nicalis’ NightSky, an “ambient” puzzle platformer that is sure to appeal to fans of Limbo.

The Virtual Console also gets a workout with today’s update as Ghosts ‘n Goblins and Castlevania: The Adventure have been added to the 3DS eShop while 1997’s Shock Troopers can now be downloaded to your Wii. Finally, the non-Virtual Console 18th Gate was added to the DSiWare Shop.

Two new Coin Rush DLC packs for New Super Mario Bros. 2 rounds out today’s update. The “Gold Mushroom Pack” and “Coin Challenge Pack B” have been priced at $2.50 apiece.

One extra game will be added to the 3DS eShop this week. Level-5’s Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask (look, we’ve come full circle) will be available to download on Sunday, October 28 (the same day its available in brick and mortar stores).

Nintendo Download: Super Mario 3D Land, Zelda OoT 3D, Star Fox 64 3D, Mario Kart 7

Nintendo has gone back and added four of 2011’s biggest retail 3DS games to the 3DS eShop. Super Mario 3D Land, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D, Star Fox 64 3D, and Mario Kart 7 are all now available for your downloading pleasure.

Another retail 3DS game, the fashionista fantasy Style Savvy: Trendsetters, will be added to the eShop on October 22.

Here’s a look at the rest of the new additions for Nintendo’s download services this week:

Sparkle Snapshots 3D (3DS eShop) – Use your Nintendo 3DS system’s cameras and this software’s easy-to-use camera settings to take 2D pictures, and then personalize your shots any way you want with layers of stickers, ribbons, pens and other 3D effects.

Gradius (3DS eShop) – Blast your way to victory in this classic side-scrolling shooter.

Puzzler World XL (DSiWare) – Boasting over 1,800 different puzzles, with favorites like Sudoku, crosswords and unique offerings like Link-A-Pix and Pieceword, puzzle fans are sure to find a wealth of fun in this unprecedented collection.

Reel Fishing Ocean Challenge (Wii Shop) – It’s a thrilling fishing experience for novices and master anglers alike!

When it comes to deciding which video games qualify as the best of all time, everyone has an opinion. And sometimes those opinions result in a violent argument over the mental faculties (or lack thereof) of the listmaker. So we thought we’d add a little science to the equation to find out exactly which games can be considered the “100 Best Video Games of All Time” and which ones have been fighting above their weight class all these years. Madden NFL 13, Borderlands 2 lead all September bestsellers

Boom! The annual juggernaut that is the Madden NFL Football has once again taken the top spot for September sales as Madden NFL 13 reigned supreme last month.

Gearbox’s Borderlands 2 followed close behind with strong sales of its own. In fact, they were so strong that the sequel managed to top the first month sales of the original Borderlands by 234%. That is just an insane number.

New releases controlled much of the top ten with FIFA Soccer 13 (#3), Guild Wars 2 (#5), NHL 13 (#6), and World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria (#7) also performing well.
