Nintendo plans to add a bunch of new games to the DSiWare Shop, 3DS eShop, and Wii U eShop over the next few days, including one of the most acclaimed GameCube games ever and everybody’s favorite NES game.
Let’s start with today’s additions to Nintendo’s download services. The NES classic Super Mario Bros. is now available on the Wii U eShop, but the real action is on the 3DS. Nintendo’s handheld will receive Star Wars Pinball, Solomon’s Key, Hakuoki: Memories of the Shinsengumi, Rage of the Gladiator, AiRace Speed, Mahjong 3D: Essentials, and Shifting World today. There’s a little something for everyone there including a few puzzles games, a great fantasy fighter, a romantic RPG, and a racer. If you’re still rocking a DSi, two interactive stories (Tales to Enjoy! The Ugly Duckling and Tales to Enjoy! Three Little Pigs) were also added to the DSiWare Shop today.
So what else can we look forward to? Tomorrow, Nintendo will add The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD to the Wii U eShop, a full two weeks before its disc-based debut. And on Tuesday, Wii U and 3DS owners will be able to go on a superheroic adventure with Superman, Batman, and hundreds of other DC characters in Scribblenauts Unmasked. Finally, FIFA 14 will also be added to the 3DS eShop on Tuesday.

Nintendo Download: D&D Chronicles of Mystara, Giana Sisters Twisted Dreams, more
Nine new games have been added to Nintendo’s three download services today, though your definition of the word “new” may be different from theirs.
The Wii U leads the way as the arcade brawler Dungeons & Dragons: Chronicles of Mystara and the side-scrolling Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams are both now available to download from the Wii U eShop. A favorite among Super NES RPG afficiandos, Breath of Fire II, and yet another “find the object” game, Spot The Differences! Party, were also released today.
Over on the 3DS, Sonic Generations speeds onto the 3DS eShop today. Sega’s red-shoed mascot is joined by Summer Carnival ’92 RECCA, a tough-as-nails overhead shooter; Boulder Dash-XL 3D, a side-scrolling mining game; and Darts Up 3D, a… wait for it… darts game.
Finally, the DSiWare Shop hosts a new game this week: Jewel Adventures. It’s your typical match-3 puzzler.

New Releases: Diablo III, Rayman Legends, Total War: Rome II, More
The Fall is here! The drought is over! Let’s talk about new releases!
This week, Blizzard’s Diablo III has finally been released for the PS3 and Xbox 360. It feels the console of their hack and slash game has been in development for ages, but it was only announced this past February at the Sony’s PS4 reveal.
Also available this week is Rayman Legends. The game was originally scheduled to be released this Spring exclusively for the Wii U, but Ubisoft sent it back to the development team and asked them to also push out additional editions of the game for the PC, PS3, Xbox 360, and Vita.
Finally, we’ve got the PC-exclusive release of Total War: Rome II from Creative Assembly. The developers have claimed the war simulation is their best yet, but you can try it for yourself if you’re attending this weekend’s PAX Prime in Seattle. In fact, all of these games are playable on the show floor today and tomorrow. How ’bout that?
You can find more new releases after the break. (more…)
Say hello to the villains of Lego Marvel Super Heroes
In honor of this year’s Gamescom expo, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has released a new trailer for Lego Marvel Super Heroes. In addition to confirming the game will also appear on the PS4 and Xbox One this Fall, the developers at TT Games have given us our first look at some of the game’s many villains. They include (deep breath)…
Dr. Doom, Doctor Octopus, Magneto, Sandman, Arnim Zola, Green Goblin, Sabretooth, Abomination, Loki, Mystique, and Galactus. There’s also blink-and-you’ll-miss-it glimpses of Cyclops, Storm, and the Silver Surfer.
Unless I missed him, I’m still holding out for Lego Blade. But I love that we’re getting Lego Punisher, even if he wasn’t in this trailer.
