Call of Duty: Black Ops II, other Activision titles, confirmed for Wii U
A Wii U edition of Call of Duty: Black Ops II wasn’t exactly a secret, but today it’s official. Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime and Activision Publishing CEO Eric Hirshberg have announced that Skylanders Giants, Wipeout 3, 007 Legends, and Transformer Prime will all be available during the Wii U launch window.

CoD Black Ops II getting two special editions: Hardened and Care Package
The special edition packages that Activision has created for the Call of Duty series over the last few years have managed to raise the bar for all special editions. This year appears to be no different.
The Hardened Edition will come packed with the following goodies:
- Bonus In-Game Content: Nuketown Zombies & Nuketown 2025
- Xbox 360 CLAW Avatar Prop & Zombies Avatar Costume
OR PS3 Multiplayer Theme & Zombie Theme - Limited Edition Challenge Coins
- Official Soundtrack by Jack Wall With Theme by Trent Reznor
- Collectible Steelbook
- Exclusive Weapon Camo
- Exclusive Player Card Backgrounds
Pretty nifty, but this year’s big bundle is the even more impressive Care Package Edition. It’ll include all of the Hardened Edition content, as well as an MD-27 Dragonfire Drone with Remote Control, all packaged in a massive foot locker. Flight enthusiasts, you have been put on notice!
Pricing details have yet to be announced, but you can get a closer look at the Hardened and Care Package Editions after the break.
CoD: Black Ops II for Wii U appears on developer resume
It comes as no surprise that Call of Duty: Black Ops II is being tested on the Wii U. According to Activision employee Randall H.’s LinkedIn page, the quality assurance tester has been doing multiplayer testing for Black Ops II since May on both the PlayStation 3 and the Wii U.
Seeing as Black Ops II will be coming out on November 13 for PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360, it seems like there’s a pretty good chance that it will be one of the Wii U’s biggest and baddest launch titles. It wouldn’t be the first Call of Duty game on a Nintendo system, but with the Wii U’s beefed up hardware and impressive controller, it’s sure to be a killer.
Get your first look at Call of Duty: Black Ops II multiplayer in this trailer
I try not to get hyped on Call of Duty games. I try really hard. The only one I’ve ever been obsessed over was Call of Duty: Black Ops. And now, Call of Duty: Black Ops II is tempting me with this amazing multiplayer trailer. I mean, the first temptation was hearing about the Nuketown 2025 bonus map that comes with pre-orders. But now that I’m seeing these awesome stun grenades… drones… kamikaze mini-planes… I mean, really, what isn’t there to love here? Treyarch is pulling out all the stops.
Call of Duty: Black Ops II will be out on November 13 for PC, PS3, and Xbox 360.
Call of Duty: Black Ops II’s villain is the 99% in this new trailer
Usually, supervillains are among the 1% of the 1%, what with their volcano fortresses, supermodel bodyguards, and orbiting death lasers. But the big bad of Call of Duty: Black Ops II has grander ambitions. He’s Raul Menendez, a man who is idolized as “The Messiah of the 99%.”
He is also a megalomaniac bent on world domination.
Check out the trailer above to get your first glimpse on the dual nature of Menendez and remember that Call of Duty: Black Ops II will launch for the PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 on November 13.
