Namco Bandai has erected a giant banner on top of the Los Angeles Convention Center (the site of next week’s E3 Expo) promoting Dark Souls II. In addition to the game’s title, two scary dudes, and the PC/PS3/Xbox 360 logos, the banner also comes complete with a release date: March 2014. While the publisher hasn’t confirmed an official release date for Dark Souls II through a press release yet, a banner atop E3 is the next best thing.

Dark Souls II gets a second trailer

From Software and Namco Bandai have released a new trailer for Dark Souls II, its second since the title was announced at the Spike TV Video Game Awards back in December.

This trailer includes some gameplay footage (sort of), and you can get a general idea on how the game is going to look during gameplay. It also doesn’t give anything away about what you’re going to be doing while playing the game. But, we’re sure that it’s going to get you excited, as it did us.

Dark Souls II is set for a 2014 release on the PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360.

Spike TV VGAs: Dark Souls II is back to kill you

This world premiere was brought to you by Jessica Alba, who was as sexy as ever. As soon as I saw the first few moments, I said, “Oh god, oh god, is this another Dark Souls game?” The first words… as a knight is walking across a barren land… are, “You are the undead, forever without hope, forever without light.”

The knight reaches a cave and sees the giant skeleton of a dragon. A group of frightening humanoids with masks. Then the same knight is filled with arrows. Hopefully, this is the start of a badass fight with a dragon but, knowing From Software, is more like you getting killed in the tutorial. Yes, it’s Dark Souls II… and it’s coming for you.

Dark Souls II is in development for the PC, PS3, and Xbox 360. No release date has been announced.
