The supervillains are coming… The Scarecrow, Bane, Captain Cold, and Gorilla Grodd steal the show in the latest Injustice 2 trailer
We got a good look at Gorilla Grodd back when NetherRealm Studios first announced Injustice 2. But he’s also part of a parade of supervillains in the latest trailer for the one-on-one fighting game.
“It’s Good To Be Bad” is notable for giving fans their first glimpse at several new additions to the Injustice universe including Bane, Captain Cold, and the most-frightening version of Scarecrow that I’ve ever seen. Bane is a brawler in the Jax mold, and Captain Cold obviously shares a powerset with Sub-Zero, but you might be surprised to see Scarecrow using a chained sickle similar to Scorpion’s spear or Kabal’s hookswords.
Injustice 2 will be released for the PS4 and Xbox One on May 16.
Injustice 2’s “Shattered Alliances Part 3” trailer features Supergirl and Black Adam
Injustice 2‘s “Shattered Alliances” Story Trailer saga continued today with the release of Part 3, featuring Supergirl and the never-before-seen Black Adam. All the way back when it first was announced, NetherRealm Studios promised that Supergirl would play a huge role in Injustice 2’s story. Now we know that Kara Zor-El wants to help Superman seek redemption for the crimes committed by his Regime. Unfortunately, Black Adam is standing in her way.
Black Adam was a playable character in the original Injustice, and he once again brings the power of the Egyptian gods to the sequel (along with a rather impressive Super Move).
Injustice 2 will be released for the PS4 and Xbox One on May 16.
NetherRealm releases a Gameplay Trailer for Cheetah in Injustice 2
NetherRealm Studios first revealed Cheetah’s inclusion in Injustice 2 as part of the “Here Come the Girls” trailer released on February 14. Today, the developer unleashed a full Gameplay Trailer for the Wonder Woman villain.
As you’d expect, Cheetah has lightning-fast reflexes and makes ample use of her enhanced agility to quickly dash across the screen. Also, Batman definitely needs to do something about that malfunctioning Batplane… someone could get hurt.
Injustice 2 will be released for the PS4 and Xbox One on May 16, and according to the game’s official website, NetherRealm will announce another playable character on March 23.
NetherRealm Studios introduces the public to Firestorm in new trailer for Injustice 2
In case you missed it, NetherRealm Studios recently unveiled Firestorm as the latest addition to Injustice 2‘s roster of playable characters in the latest episode of UpUpDownDown. Yesterday, the developer went a step further and unveiled an “Introduction Trailer” for the nuclear-powered superhero.
The trailer features a good look at Firestorm’s heavy use of projectiles, though the character is also able to augment his punches and kicks with fiery melee attacks.
Firestorm was introduced in the DC Comics Universe as the result of a nuclear accident in 1978. The accident fused together the minds of physicist Martin Stein and lab assistant Ronnie Raymond, forcing them to live together in a single body controlled by the “Firestorm Matrix.” The character’s Injustice 2 appearance will be based on a 2004 reboot of the character that paired Stein with the teenage Jason Rusch.
According to the game’s official website, NetherRealm will unveil Injustice 2’s next playable character a week from today on March 23.
Injustice 2 will be released for the PS4 and Xbox One on May 16.
Injustice 2 goes nuclear with the addition of Firestorm
Firestorm made his DC Comics debut in 1978, and it looks like the nuclear-powered character will make his first major foray into video games later this Spring in Injustice 2.
Firestorm was revealed as the game’s newest playable character on UpUpDownDown, the game-focused YouTube show hosted by WWE wrestler Austin “Xavier Woods” Creed. He recently paid a visit to NetherRealm Studios, had a brief chat with Creatvie Director Ed Boon, and got to test out Firestorm’s Special Moves with the help of Kofi Kingston, Sasha Banks, and Bayley.
The full Firestorm reveal is available as part of the UpUpDownDown episode embedded above, but I can’t get over how much the superhero resembles Fire Man from the original Mega Man.
Injustice 2 will be released for the PS4 and Xbox One on May 16.
Green Lantern and Green Arrow join Injustice 2 in the second “Shattered Alliances” trailer
NetherRealm Studios released another “Shattered Alliances” story trailer for Injustice 2 this morning, giving fans a second look at Batman’s attempts to pick up the pieces after the fall of Superman’s Regime.
In this trailer, NetherRealm revealed that Green Lantern and Green Arrow are ready to rejoin the battle as playable characters. Both appeared in the original Injustice: Gods Among Us, and they’ll fight alongside Batman once more in the sequel.
However, eagle-eyed viewers might have noticed that Captain Cold appears in the trailer for a split second, and Bane was momentarily seen fighting Green Arrow. Neither has been confirmed as a playable character, though both are expected to be included in the final roster (Bane even has a Character Profile page on Injustice.com). NetherRealm is likely saved them for another time.
For now, we’ll just continue counting down the days until Injustice 2’s May 16th launch on the PS4 and Xbox One.
NetherRealm adds some magic to Injustice 2 with addition of Doctor Fate to game’s roster
NetherRealm Studios continues to dig deep for new additions to Injustice 2, and today’s announcement that Doctor Fate will be joining the roster of playable characters is just further proof of their quest to explore the darker corners of the DC Universe.
Doctor Fate is actually Kent Nelson, a young archaeologist who learned the arcane secrets of sorcery from Nabu the Wise. You can watch him deliver a magical beatdown on Superman in the trailer embedded above.
Injustice 2 will offer a wide variety of character customization options thanks to its brand new Gear System, and NetherRealm showed it off to Sid Shuman of the PlayStation Blog at this week’s Game Developers Conference. If you’ve ever wanted to build Batman’s anti-Superman suit, Injustice 2 might just give you the chance:
Gear revolves around four main body parts — head, chest, arms, and legs — plus an “accessory” (think Harley Quinn’s pistols). Most gear you collect will buff at least one of your four base stats: Strength and Ability determine the offensive power of basic attacks and special moves, while Defense and Health dictate how much damage your superhero can absorb.
More exotic effects — resistance to environmental damage, earning XP more quickly — come via “augmentations” found on some higher-tier items. Full gear sets, such as Batman’s kryptonite-infused outfit, are likely to be especially prized because they can grant dramatic bonuses when fully assembled.
After playing dress-up, you can apply shaders to alter your hero’s color schemes in some striking ways. A purple-clad Superman? Why not! I’m expecting to see some seriously creative designs here come May.
Injustice 2 will be released for the PS4 and Xbox One on May 16.
New Injustice 2 trailer shows how Superman turned to the dark side and introduces Cyborg
Batman and his allies will have their hands full with Brainiac and Darkseid in Injustice 2, but they’ll also have to deal with Superman and the remnants of his evil Regime. In “Shattered Alliances Part 1,” the latest trailer for the one-on-one fighting game, fans will get a glimpse into the reasons for Superman’s turn to the dark side.
In addition to a mad dash through the majority of Injustice 2’s characters, “Shattered Alliances Part 1” also gives fans their first look at Cyborg. Originally introduced in Injustice: Gods Among Us, Cyborg is still fighting against Batman in support of Superman’s Regime.
Injustice 2 will be released for the PS4 and Xbox One on May 16.
