All Articles: Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens
New Retail Releases: Lego Star Wars: Force Awakens, Star Ocean 5, Grand Kingdom, More
We’re closing out the month of June with a big batch of new releases…
The biggest is most definitely the game with the planet-sized laser gun, Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which will be available this week for the 3DS, PC, PS3, PS4, Vita, Wii U, Xbox 360, and Xbox One. Players will be able to relive all the action from the 2015 space opera, as well as “New Adventures” that fill in details you may have been wondering about. (Just how did C-3PO get that red arm?).
A pair of RPGs will also be available this week to fans of the genre busy for a long time. Square Enix will launch the fifth game in the Star Ocean franchise, Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness, exclusively for the PS4, while NIS America has strategized a plan to release tactical RPG Grand Kingdom for the PS4 and Vita.
Players looking for something a bit off the beaten path may want to explore Zero Time Dilemma, the third and final entry in the Zero Escape franchise. The adventure game will be released for the 3DS, PC, and Vita, and takes place between the events of Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors and Zero Escape: Virtue’s Last Reward.
Finally this week, Wii U owners will finally get the chance to try out Terraria, the side-scrolling crafting and exploration title from Re-Logic.
A complete list of this week’s new releases can be found after the break. (more…)
Droid Character Pack is exclusive to PS4 and PS3… but everyone can watch this Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens Character Trailer
Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens will be available in stores starting next week, so you’d be forgiven for assuming there wouldn’t be any more Character Trailers for the game. But Sony has surprised us with another one, this time focusing on the PlayStation-exclusive Droid Character Pack.
Available as a free downloadable bonus on launch day for the PS4 and PS3, the Droid Character Pack will include plenty of familiar faces. Here’s what Jamie Eden, the Game Director at TT Games, had to say about it on the PlayStation Blog:
The Droids have always been some of my favorite characters in Star Wars films. Even though they’re machines, they still seem to have more personality and charm than a lot of humans do! Which is why it’s really exciting to be able to give players a pack that features these awesome characters. To show you what I mean, we’re here to reveal our latest vignette detailing this exciting content.
Some of the franchise’s most memorable droids have made the cut including R5-D4 (the astromech droid Luke buys before R2-D2 in Star Wars), IG-88 (the bounty hunter droid from The Empire Strikes Back), General Grievous, and more. Your droids will also be able to go looking for trouble in two additional vehicles.
Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens will be released on June 28. In addition to the PS4 and PS3, the game will also be available for the 3DS, PC, Vita, Wii U, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.
Kylo Ren angsts up the latest Character Trailer for Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens
Exactly a week from today, Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens will be available on store shelves for the 3DS, PC, PS3, PS4, Vita, Wii U, Xbox 360, and Xbox One. So WB Games has released one last Character Trailer, this time focusing on Kylo Ren’s exploration of “the lighter side of the Dark Side.”
Featuring new dialogue from Adam Driver, be sure to pause Kylo Ren’s vignette after seven seconds to get a great look at his bedroom. It looks like something of a college comedy, but I think the Warhol-inspired Darth Vader portrait is an especially nice touch.
And in case you missed it, a Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens demo is now available to download through the PlayStation Store and Xbox Games Store for the PS4 and Xbox One.
Xbox Store Today: Trials of the Blood Dragon, Monkey King Saga, E3 Demos
If you’re looking for new games on the Xbox Games Store this week, you won’t find much, but you will find a handful of new games and a few E3 demos that are definitely worth talking about.
First up is Trials of the Blood Dragon (Xbox One), Ubisoft and RedLynx’s mashup that combines “the top notch gameplay of Trials with the unique style and attitude of Blood Dragon.” That means players can expect a lot of side-scrolling stunt action set within a ridiculously over-the-top universe. But I guess that’s to be expected when your main character is named Rex Power Colt. Also available this week is Monkey King Saga (Xbox One), a top-down tower defense game based on the Journey to the West, one of history’s earliest novels.
However, if you’d rather try out a few free games this week, both id Software and WB Games have added new demos to the Xbox Games Store this week in honor of the E3 Expo. Doom was released a month ago, but anyone who skipped out on the gloriously gory first person shooter can try out the first level now. Meanwhile, Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens will be released in two weeks, but fans can try it out now.
More information on both of this week’s new releases can be found after the break. (more…)
Trials of the Blood Dragon, Siren, a trio of E3 demos, more added to PS Store
Sony Interactive Entertainment is likely very aware that their fans are indulging in a neverending stream of news and trailers from this year’s E3 Expo, because the PlayStation Store update is pretty bare.
As announced Monday, Ubisoft’s Trials of The Blood Dragon is now available to download for the PS4. The “stunt platformer” takes place in the same universe as Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon, and combines the side-scrolling motorbike stunts of the Trials series with the pure insanity of the 2013 shooter.
Also available to download this week is Siren, the latest addition to the PS2-On-PS4 series. The horror title wasn’t the most well-known game on the PS2, but it had a dedicated core of fans that will appreciate replaying its horrific scenarios.
But speaking of horror, the real star of this week’s PlayStation Store update is the trio of demos that are now available to try out… and two of them will bring new horror experiences to PS4 players. First up is Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, a teaser for Capcom’s upcoming entry in the long-running survival horror series. The viewpoint has switched to first-person and the entire thing will take place in a dilapidated plantation in the American South, but there’s certainly something scary going on.
Also this week, PS4 players who skipped out on Doom will get to try the game’s first level and see what all the fuss is about. A small taste of Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens is also available to download ahead of its PS4 debut later this month.
More information on all of this week’s new release can be found after the break. (more…)
