Beyond: Two Souls, Bloodborne: The Old Hunters, Minecraft: Story Mode Episode 3, more added to PS Store
Sony is in a giving mood for this week’s PlayStation Store update. The consolemaker has heavily discounted dozens of games for Black Friday weekend (though they never use the words “Black Friday Sale”), as well as launching two new PS4 titles.
Beyond: Two Souls is a PS4 remake of Quantic Dream’s supernatural adventure story starring Ellen Page and Willem Dafoe. In addition to improved visuals, Quantic Dream has added increased difficulty, improved controls, and a special “chronological order” mode to the game.
Also available this week is The Old Hunters, the massive new expansion to From Software’s Bloodborne. Players will descend into “Byrgenwerth’s deepest, darkest secrets” as they “explore brand new stages full of dangers, rewards, and deadly beasts to hunt.” Sounds like a good time will be had by all.
Finally this week, Telltale Games has reached the halfway point with Minecraft: Story Mode. Episode 3 will be known as The Last Place You Look, and it’s a rather fitting title as Jesse are on the lookout for Soren, the final member of the Order of the Stone. I wonder if he’s hiding out to browse the PlayStation Store sale in peace.
More information on all of these games (and a few other new releases) can be found after the break. A complete list of this week’s discounts and new game add-ons can be found at the PlayStation Blog. (more…)

Today, they announced that Episode 3, “The Last Place You Look,” will be available to download for the PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and mobile devices on November 24. The search for the legendary Order of the Stone continues for Jesse and his/her friends in Episode 3, but is it too late…

Xbox Store Today: Halo 5: Guardians, WWE 2K16, Divinity: Original Sin, more
Xbox One owners get ready… Halo 5: Guardians is finally here. According to Microsoft, “the Master Chief is missing and his loyalty questioned” in “the most dramatic Halo story to date.” The consolemaker has always tried to position Halo as a Star Wars for a new generation, but they also worked with a cadre of professional gamers to get the multiplayer portion just right. Will it all work out? We’ll have to find the Master Chief and ask him.
Also available this week is WWE 2K16, the latest professional wrestling sim from 2K Games. Featuring the biggest roster in the franchise’s history, WWE 2K16 for the Xbox One and Xbox 360 will also star “Stone Cold” Steve Austin and include an expanded and enhanced Create-A-Wrestler mode.
Speaking of expanded and enhanced things, Larian Studios will release Divinity: Original Sin – Enhanced Edition for the Xbox One. The classic-style RPG now includes splitscreen cooperative play and a brand new user interface. Oh, and there’s also new quests, combat styles, locations, and story sections. And speaking of the word “story,” Telltale Games continues Minecraft: Story Mode this week with Episode 2: Assembly Required for the Xbox One and Xbox 360.
More information about all of these games can be found after the break. (more…)
DriveClub Bikes, WWE 2K16, Divinity: Original Sin, more added to PS Store
With Halo 5: Guardians ready to launch for the Xbox One this week and a bevy of Paris Games Week announcements to digest, Sony wisely kept this week’s PlayStation Store update to the bare minimum. However, they did surprise-release DriveClub Bikes (PS4), a standalone expansion to Evolution’s racer that features a full Tour Campaign, a Challenge Mode, multiplayer, and a ton of customization options.
If you drop all the motorcycle gear, you’re left with two men in speedos, which is a perfect segue into the news that 2K Games will bring WWE 2K16 to the PS3 and PS4 this week. Their latest wrasslin’ title includes the franchise’s biggest roster to date and an expanded Create-A-Wrestler mode.
No speedos can be found in Telltale’s Minecraft: Story Mode, which is quickly expanding this week with the release of Episode 2: Assembly Required on the PS3 and PS4.
Finally this week, a pair of re-releases will make fans of RPGs very happy. Divinity: Original Sin Enhanced Edition makes its console debut this week as Larian Studios brings an expanded and enhanced version of their RPG to the PS4. Slightly more familiar to PS4 owners might be this Friday’s PS4 release of Darksiders II: Deathinitive Edition, which includes the apocalyptic action RPG sequel (originally released for the PS3 in 2012) and all its downloadable content.
More information on all of these games (and a few other new releases) is available found after the break. And, as always, a complete rundown of this week’s new game add-ons and discounts can be found at the PlayStation Blog. (more…)
New Releases: Halo 5: Guardians, WWE 2K16, Minecraft: Story Mode, More
After last week’s soft launch, Microsoft is finally ready to unleash the highly-anticipated Halo 5: Guardians onto the Xbox One audience. Microsoft has been building towards the return of the Master Chief ever since the platform’s launch back in 2013. Will it live up to the hype? I don’t know, but it’ll certainly move a few Xbox One bundles this holiday season.
For players looking for an edge in Halo 5 (or any action-heavy Xbox One game), Microsoft will also release the Xbox One Elite Controller this week. Featuring a slew of swappable components and the powerful Xbox Accessories app to help customize the controller, Microsoft is hoping to establish the Elite Controller as the input option of choice for hardcore gamers.
If you prefer your battle royales to be a bit more Earth-based, you might be interested to know that 2K Games will release WWE 2K16 for the PS4, Xbox One, PS3, and Xbox 360 this week. Starring “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, the latest WWE game includes the biggest roster of wrestlers ever, as well as a redesigned Create-A-Wrestler mode.
Rounding out this week’s new releases is a trio of re-releases including the debut of Divinity: Original Sin – Enhanced Edition on the PS4 and Xbox One. It’s joined by the coming apocalypse of Darksiders II: Deathinitive Edition (PS4, Xbox One) and the dirt track racing of MX vs ATV: Supercross Encore (PC, PS4).
Finally this week, Telltale Games is offering a “Season Pass Disc” for Minecraft: Story Mode on the PS4, Xbox One, PS3, and Xbox 360. Players who purchase the Season Pass will receive the first episode of the game on the disc, along with downloadable access to all subsequent episodes as they’re released.

Xbox Store Today: Minecraft Story Mode, Wasteland 2, Back to the Future, more
Great Scott! This week’s Xbox Games Store update is taking a trip into the past while also giving us a glimpse at the future of gaming.
The original Wasteland is one of gaming’s watershed moments. Originally released in 1988, Wasteland billed itself as “the original post-apocalyptic strategy RPG” after it inspired the release of Fallout. Now, 27 years later, original developer Brian Fargo has returned to one of his signature creations with the release of Wasteland 2: Director’s Cut on the Xbox One.
But you can’t look back on the past without an assist from Doc Brown… and Telltale agrees. In honor of the film’s 30th anniversary, they’ve re-released Back to the Future: The Game in a special 30th Anniversary Edition on the Xbox One and Xbox 360. And speaking of Telltale, the developer also partnered with Mojang to release Minecraft: Story Mode – Episode 1: The Order of the Stone for the Xbox One and Xbox 360 this week. Minecraft has often been called “the future of video games,” and it’s hard to argue with that kind of statement. Who knows what the actual future of gaming will hold, but I do know one thing… where we’re going, we don’t need roads.
More information on all of these games, and a few other new releases, can be found after the break. (more…)
