Bryce Harper’s tenure with the Philadelphia Phillies starts with an MLB The Show 19 trailer with his new team
Bryce Harper signed with the Philadelphia Phillies just a few hours ago, but Sony San Diego has already produced a new trailer for MLB The Show 19 featuring the superstar outfielder in his new uniform. The developer’s Community Manager, Ramone Russell, also shared some enthusiasm for Harper’s new home on the PlayStation Blog:
It’s been amazing to partner with Bryce to announce his free agency signing, and couldn’t be happier for him as he kicks off the next chapter of his career. We can’t wait to see what 2019 holds for Bryce, and we’re even more excited to share what we have in store for our fans with The Show 19.
MLB The Show 19 will be released exclusively for the PS4 on March 26. (more…)
Sony San Diego hits it out of the park with the first Gameplay Trailer for MLB The Show 19
“Big Sexy” Bartolo Colon still hasn’t signed with a new team for 2019 (to be fair, neither has Bryce Harper), but that didn’t stop Sony San Diego from unveiling the first Gameplay Trailer for MLB The Show 19 earlier today.
The developer’s latest baseball sim will make its PS4 debut on March 26, and this new trailer gives fans a glimpse at what a few of the sport’s greatest modern players will look on the digital diamond. A handful of Hall of Famers from the game’s Legends Mode also appeared in the trailer and this rarefied group of ballplayers included Willie Mays (making “The Catch”), Christy Mathewson, Tony Gwynn, and Ken Griffey Jr. A split-second shot of Rob Dibble was (for some reason) also included.
If you’re interested in learning more about MLB The Show 19, Sony San Diego’s Ramone Russell has shared the developer’s upcoming Twitch streaming schedule on the PlayStation Blog.
MLB The Show 19’s newest Teaser Trailer features “Big Sexy” Bartolo Colon
Even though Bartolo Colon is 45 years old, he still wants to play Major League Baseball in 2019. And he just might get the chance, because Bartolo Colon is possibly immortal. The seemingly-invincible pitcher has amassed 247 career wins and a comically rotund physique that has earned him the nickname “Big Sexy” (and a legion of fans to go with it).
He is also the star of the newest Teaser Trailer for Sony’s MLB The Show 19.
At first parodying a commercial for cologne, the pitcher is shown whacking his one career home run (in sexy live-action), before transitioning to show the same highlight in MLB The Show 19. You can view it for yourself above, but it’s as glorious as you’d expect.
MLB The Show 19 will be released exclusively for the PS4 on March 26, and stay tuned for the first Gameplay Trailer, which will be unveiled on February 5.
Bryce Harper will be your MLB The Show 19 cover athlete when the game launches on March 26
The Boston Red Sox closed the book on the 2018 season with a World Series win last week, and if you listen closely, you can already hear the “Wait ’til next year!” chants coming from the fans of every other team. So now’s the perfect time for Sony to announce that MLB The Show 19 will be released for the PS4 on March 26 with Bryce Harper.
Harper is currently a free agent, and we have no idea where he’ll play next season, but he made a big name for himself in Washington, winning the 2012 NL Rookie of the Year, 2015 NL MVP, and the 2018 Home Run Derby. But it sounds like Harper has big plans for the future:
Bryce’s unapologetic raw passion for the game and search for a potential team makes him the player to watch this off-season. We’re at the beginning of a new chapter in the epic MLB legacy of Bryce Harper. He’s got the skill and tenacity to be a hall-of-fame ballplayer. He’s got an explosive drive to win, and he’s hungrier than ever for a World Series ring.
MLB The Show 19 will be available in four different bundles next year, beginning with a Standard Edition with a pretty standard price ($59.99).
But fans will also be able to grab the Gone Yard Edition ($99.99) exclusively at GameStop, and it’ll include 1 New Era Gone Yard Edition 9FIFTY Hat, Limited Edition Steel Book, 1 In-Game Digital Diamond Dynasty New Era Gone Yard Edition 9FIFTY Hat, 1 Prestige Gear Up Choice Pack, 1 of 30 Diamond Flashbacks, 15,000 Stubs, 20 Standard Packs, 1 Classic Stadium, and 30 Custom Avatars.
The Digital Deluxe Edition ($99.99) will offer up a similar package exclusively through the PlayStation Store. The MVP Edition ($69.99) will cut out the hat and a few of the digital bonuses, but it’ll include 1 Prestige Player Gear Up Choice Pack, 1 of 30 Diamond Flashbacks, 6,000 Stubs, 1 Classic Stadium, 10 Standard Packs, and 30 Custom Avatars.
