Metanet will launch N++ on PS4 in next few months
Metanet’s Mare Sheppard and Raigan Burns recently sat down with GamesIndustry International to discuss N++, their upcoming ninja-steals-gold platformer for the PS4. While N++ missed the PS4’s launch, they had a lot to talk about.
Firstly, the developers revealed that N++ made the jump to the PS4 because of Sony’s willingness to help finance the game through their Pub Fund program. N+ originally appeared on the Xbox Live Arcade in 2008 and the duo said that if anyone at Microsoft had offered up a similar deal, they would have considered taking N++ to the Xbox One.
Sheppard and Burns also confirmed that N++ should arrive on the PS4 sometime in the next few months. They’re hopeful for a December release, but admit that “early next year” could be a possibility.
Sony announces Minecraft, N++ for the PS4
It’s been a long time coming, but Minecraft will finally be available on a Sony system this year. The mining and crafting hit was released for the Xbox 360 last year and is expected to be available on the Xbox One this November. Minecraft for the PS4 (no word yet on if it will use the “Minecraft: PS4 Edition” name) will be available during the system’s launch window and will be released sometime between November 15 and December 31.
And N++, the “definitive” ninja platformer from Metanet Software, will also be available for the PS4 this year. It too will be released during the system’s launch window and Metanet has promised a colorful new look for the franchise, which you can get a taste of (thanks to the first teaser trailer) after the break. Metanet announces N++
Metanet’s last game, N+, ninjaed it’s way onto the Xbox Live Arcade, DS, and PSP back in 2008. Since then, the developer of the quintessential “ninjas versus lasers” game (that’s a genre, right?) has been relatively quiet. But during last week’s Game Developers Conference, the developer revealed they’re coming back in a big way and they’re bringing N the Ninja with them.
At GDC, Metanet announced N++, the “absolutely final iteration of N.” The new game will include “new levels, new graphics, new sound, [and] new game modes,” but when it’ll be released or what platforms it’ll be available for is still a mystery.
What’s not a mystery is the game’s official site, which Metanet promises to pack with exciting N++ updates soon.
