This year marks the 25th anniversary of the Street Fighter series and Capcom plans to celebrate in style. And if you’ve got $149.99 lying around, you can celebrate too, because that’s the cost of entry to obtain the Street Fighter 25th Anniversary Set. Naturally, you have your choice of platform: PS3 or Xbox 360.
Set for release on September 18, the Anniversary Set will be packed in a stylish box which includes all four Street Fighter games released this generation: Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition, Street Fighter X Tekken, Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix, and Street Fighter III: Third Strike Online Edition.

PlayStation Store Today: Sorcery, Sega Classics, Doctor Who, More
Another week and another monster update to the PlayStation Store. And I mean “monster” quite literally. Sony’s Sorcery, newly added to the Store this week, puts the Move controller to good use fighting all sorts of monsters with the power of magic.
The many other additions this week run the gamut from old platformers (six “Sega Vintage Collection” titles) to new fighters (Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition) to the world’s great time traveler (Doctor Who: The Eternity Clock).
There’s even a new Vita game (Table Top Tanks), a PSone Classic (Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare) and a pair of PS2 Classics (Need For Speed: Most Wanted, Syphon Filter: The Omega Strain)
Hit the jump for a complete list of this week’s new releases and check out the PlayStation Blog for all the latest game add-ons that have been added to the PlayStation Store. (more…)
New Releases: Dynasty Warriors Gundam 3, RE Mercenaries 3D, Street Fighter IV Arcade, More
The month of June comes to an end with a bunch of new sequels and a new fitness game that will turn your mom into an ultimate fighter. Take that Wii Fit! But I’m sure you want specifics, so here we go:
- Capcom is bringing an expanded version of popular Mercenaries minigame to the 3DS in Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D.
- The publisher is also expanding the latest Street Fighter game again with Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition (PS3, Xbox 360).
- Namco Bandai and Tecmo Koei merged two of their favorite franchises a third time in Dynasty Warriors: Gundam 3 (PS3, Xbox 360).
- Nintendo brings the popular Mystery Case Files series to the console world for the first time in Mystery Case Files: The Malgrave Incident (Wii).
- And finally, THQ wants to turn your exercise regiment into an extreme sport with UFC Personal Trainer (PS3, Xbox 360).

3DS stocked aplenty at retailers
Gamer interest in Nintendo’s 3DS has been off the charts and no one was overly surprised when the entire initial shipment in Japan sold out. Indeed, Nintendo may have had another case of the Wii on their hands, which has been scarcely available at many times over the last few years.
That won’t be the case in North America, as retailers are reporting they have plenty of units to sell to consumers. GameStop, Target, and Toys R Us reported to GameSpot that they’ve been able to meet pre-orders and have plenty of units to go around. This doesn’t necessarily mean the system isn’t selling well, instead a Toys R Us representative pointed towards “a very strong partnership with Nintendo” that has allowed them to meet demand.
What about the games? Super Street Fighter IV, Pilotwings Resort, and Lego Star Wars III: The Clone Wars have been cited as the top selling titles so far. I know Senior Editor Nicole Kline got her 3DS and Podcast Producer Ryan Littlefield is about to get his, so hopefully we’ll have some impressions from launch titles incoming.
Preview Pack: Capcom’s Okamiden, Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D, Super Street Fighter IV 3D
Many fans at PAX East were disappointed to find that the Chibiterasu special edition plushies sold out the first day. But what they weren’t disappointed about was the fact that Capcom’s 3DS lines were far shorter than those across the show floor at Nintendo. Mike Gutierrez and Nicole Kline got to check out Okamiden, Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D, and Super Street Fighter IV: 3D Edition. (more…)
North American 3DS commercial shows off the launch goodies
The first official commercial for the Nintendo 3DS in North America is complete and shows some of the launch content for the handheld in action. Ryu takes on Chun Li in Super Street Fighter IV: 3D Edition and Nintendo shows off those cool little alternate reality cards which you can interact with as if the stuff on screen was real (trust me, it makes sense in the video). They even try to make Steel Diver look like a fun game.
Are you ready for the Nintendo 3DS this March 27?
