Nintendo Download: Metroid Prime Federation Force, Style Savvy 3, Pokemon Ranger 3, more
Make your 3DS is charged, because Nintendo is releasing two new games for their handheld on the Nintendo eShop this week.
Samus Aran won’t star in Metroid Prime: Federation Force, and the art style is a bit on the cutesy side for a Metroid game, but players will be able to take control of a Federation Force Marine as they battle Space Pirates and Metroids on a mysterious planet. Up to four players can join the adventure, which will be released tomorrow, or they can take part in the included minigame, Blast Ball.
Also available to download for the 3DS tomorrow is Style Savvy: Fashion Forward, the latest game in Nintendo’s boutique management franchise. Players will be able to stock thousands of items in their boutique or “design clothes fit for a fashionista, style some wicked hair, master the art of make-up, and even become the next top model.”
Finally this week, the third game in the Pokemon Ranger series, Pokemon Ranger: Guardian Signs, will be available to download through the Wii U eShop. Originally released for the DS in 2010, players battle it out with the “Pokemon Pinchers” in this finale to the Pokemon Ranger trilogy.
More information on all of these games (and nearly a dozen other new releases) can be found after the break. (more…)
New Retail Releases: Metroid Prime Federation Force, Style Savvy 3, F1 2016, More
It seems like everyone who talks about Nintendo nowadays wants to talk about the NX, but the consolemaker is still releasing games for the 3DS, including this week’s launch of Metroid Prime: Federation Force and Style Savvy: Fashion Forward.
Metroid Prime: Federation Force is a co-op-focused spinoff from the main Metroid series and won’t star intergalactic bounty hunter Samus Aran. Instead, players will join up with a squad of Galactic Federation Marines as they do battle with Metroids and Space Pirates on a distant planet.
Meanwhile, Style Savvy: Fashion Forward is the third game in Nintendo’s fashion franchise, and it’ll give budding fashionistas the chance to design the perfect outfit with thousands of choices.
Steeping away from Nintendo, Codemasters will release F1 2016 for the PS4 and Xbox One. The latest racing simulation from the British developer follows the FIA Formula One World Championship, and includes 21 tracks and 22 drivers.
Finally this week, Krillbite will release a retail version of Among the Sleep for the PS4. Among the Sleep is a first-person game where players take control of a young toddler investigating the strange noises in his house. Is it the Bogeyman? or is it just a shadow?
The real question is, when you’re a toddler, does it make a difference?

Nintendo announces North American release dates for Style Savvy: Fashion Forward and Disney Magical World 2
While most of Nintendo’s marketing muscle this Fall will be concentrated on Pokemon Sun/Moon, the consolemaker has other titles in the works for the 3DS. And that includes two with brand spanking new release dates.
First up is Style Savvy: Fashion Forward, which will be released on August 19. The third game in Nintendo’s simulation series, players will be able to tap into their inner fashion guru to create thousands of unique outfits:
Style Savvy: Fashion Forward, the third game in the Style Savvy series, gives players a sense of accomplishment by putting them in charge of one of five exciting professions. Players can immerse themselves in a world of fashion by owning a boutique, designing clothes, styling hair, applying makeup or becoming a model. When players make themselves look good, customers who visit their boutiques might start adopting the player’s style. The game includes over 19,000 different articles of clothing, items and accessories to choose from. Players can also learn real-world fashion tips from the Fashion 101 guide. To access Nintendo character-themed clothing and accessories in the game, players can tap select Amiibo figures to to the handheld to trigger an event. Once the event is completed, players can get the special items.
And on October 14, Nintendo will release Disney Magical World 2, which gives players the chance to explore all their favorite Disney-themed worlds:
Disney Magical World 2, the follow up to the popular franchise, lets players enjoy a variety of new adventures in six Disney-themed worlds, such as exploring the world of Frozen, dancing with Disney princesses or soaring through special Magical Dream events. Players will encounter and interact with well-known characters like Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Goofy, Elsa, Anna, Olaf, Ariel, Donald Duck and Daisy Duck.
If your handheld collection is currently lacking a 3DS, you might want to look into Nintendo’s recent price drop for the 2DS.
