Duh… Duh… Duh, Duh-Duh… Duh, Duh-Duh! Duh, Duh-Duh!
Search your feelings. You know it to be true. Star Wars: Battlefront is now available to download for the PS4 through the PlayStation Store. But EA and DICE’s multiplayer battler isn’t the only Star Wars game that did the trench run to retailers this week. Also available to download today is Super Star Wars, an enhanced remake of the Super NES side-scroller from 1992.
As one epic saga receives a new beginning this week, another comes to a close, as Telltale has released the final episode of their Game of Thrones adaptation. Available to download now for the PS4 and PS3, Episode 6: The Ice Dragon marks the end for House Forrester one way or another because in the game of thrones, “you either win, or you die.”
Finally this week, Deadpool makes his triumphant (and hyperactive) return to the PlayStation platform thanks to a PS4 re-release of his PS3 beat ’em up from 2013. If you’re unfamiliar with the “Merc With A Mouth,” I’ll let the character himself sell you on his game: “I’m a mercenary with an accelerated healing factor, I’ve been described as unstable, which is just plain coo-coo, I’m gonna battle for the safety of humans and mutants. Be prepared for just about anything. (Holla!)”
More information on all of these games (and a few other new releases) is available after the break. And a complete rundown of this week’s new game add-ons and discounts can be found at the PlayStation Blog. (more…)
Limited Edition “Darth Vader PS4” goes on sale this Fall in two different bundles
“I felt a great disturbance in The Force, as if millions of voices suddenly cried out in joy, and were suddenly silenced (in awe). I fear something terrible (to our wallets) has happened.”
With Lucasfilm and the rest of the Star Wars family now firmly ensconced in Disney’s bosom, the biennial D23 Expo is now home to plenty of reveals related to a galaxy far, far away. But the announcement of a Darth Vader-branded PS4 bundle might do more to empty the wallets of fanboys everywhere than a billion Blu-ray re-releases.
The Limited Edition system will include a profile image of the Dark Lord of the Sith and a standard 500GB hard drive. The included DualShock 4 controller will feature a red-and-black design inspired by Darth Vader’s chest panel. Each Limited Edition will also include a download code for four classic Star Wars games (Super Star Wars, Star Wars: Racer Revenge, Star Wars: Jedi Starfighter, and Star Wars: Bounty Hunter), all remade for the PS4 with enhanced graphics and Trophy support.
However, rather than limit this system to just one bundle, players will also receive one of this Fall’s new Star Wars titles: Star Wars: Battlefront and Disney Infinity: Star Wars. The Battlefront bundle will be available at retailers everywhere, while the Disney Infinity package (which also includes a Disney Infinity Base, the Rise Against the Empire Play Set Pack, a Luke Skywalker figure, a Leia Organa figure, and a Boba Fett figure) will be released exclusively through Walmart.
Both versions of the Darth Vader Limited Edition Bundle will be available on November 17. A third bundle, which includes Star Wars: Battlefront, the four classic Star Wars games, and a PS4 system and DualShock 4 in Jet Black, will also be available on November 17.
