All Articles: Zeno Clash II
XBLA Today: Zeno Clash II, Mars: War Logs
Microsoft skipped their usual Xbox Live Arcade update on Wednesday this week. But they’ve decided to make up for it with two new additions in a special Friday update. First up is Zeno Clash II, a first person brawler from Atlus and ACE Team:
Ghat’s story is far from over: Zeno Clash II picks up where the deliciously brazen first game left off. After 4 years of waiting, the sequel to ACE Team’s surreal first-person brawler brings more variety in combat and levels, stunning upgraded visuals, and even more bizarre storytelling into the beguiling stonepunk world of Zenozoik.
Zeno Clash II welcomes new players to the Zeno Clash universe with a new game that will introduce them to the world and fill them in on the backstory. Returning players will delight in the connections between the Ghat’s and Rimat’s new quest and their past adventures. All players will thoroughly enjoy playing a first-person brawler that provides a rarity in modern gaming: a truly unique experience.
And then there’s Mars: War Logs, a “cyberpunk action RPG” developed by Spiders:
An intense cyberpunk RPG on the red planet! Mars War Logs takes you to Mars, nearly a century after the cataclysm that threw the planet and its colonists into chaos. Water has become the most precious resource on the arid red planet, with a few companies fighting a perpetual war for its control. In the middle of this struggle, play as Roy, a renegade with multiple talents who finds himself dragged in an epic story where every choice counts.
Develop your character and your combat style by choosing among many skills and perks: melee, ranged combat, stealth, or the devastating Technomants powers. Craft armors and weapons, recruit companions to help you in your quest, and plunge in a thrilling adventure offering a huge variety of quests. In dynamic, real-time combat, face formidable opponents and the most fearsome creatures of Mars. The fate of all colonies of Mars now lies in your hands…
Both games have been priced at 1200 Microsoft Points ($15).
Stealth Inc, Zeno Clash II, Z.O.E. 1 and 2 HD, Do Not Fall, more added to PS Store
Sony is kicking off their 2013 Play promotion with Stealth Inc: A Clone in the Dark (available for the PS3 and Vita). The “fast-paced stealth platformer” has been priced at $9.99 and features “brutal hazards, ruthless enemies, fiendish puzzles and red pixels galore.” Sounds like a good time (even without its original title: “Stealth Bastard”).
Also available this week is Zeno Clash II, a sequel to ACE Team’s first-person melee game; the HD remakes of Zone of the Enders and Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner (which are sold separately); Do Not Fall, a platformer that asks, “What if an entire game was made up of disappearing platforms?”; and a PS3 version of Hot Shots Golf: World Invitational.
Finally, The Smurfs 2 is now available in the PS3 Full Games store.
More details about all of these games can be found after the break and a full list of this week’s new game add-ons can be found at the PlayStation Blog. (more…)
Zeno Clash II gameplay trailer punches you in the face
The first gameplay trailer for Zeno Clash II, a first-person brawler from Chilean developer ACE Team, is hard-hitting. Literally. Players must once again take control of Ghat and battle their way through the weird and wonderful creatures that populate Zenozoik, to try and rid the world of the Golem known as Kax-Teh. Ghat is now accompanied by his sister Rimat, who wishes to reunite her family after events of the first game tore it apart.
Once again powered by Valve’s Source Engine and published by Atlus, ACE Team is hoping to make the game available on Steam, PlayStation Network, and the Xbox Live Arcade in the first half of 2013.
Atlus and ACE Team are bringing Zeno Clash II to PC, PS3, Xbox 360 in 2013
Atlus has been busy, it seems – the publisher announced that it will be teaming up with ACE Team to release Zeno Clash II in early 2013 for the PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360. The first game was an indie first-person brawler, and the sequel is going to tie in RPG elements in a vast open-world setting to make it bigger than the original.
The game will also feature drop-in/drop-out online co-op, allowing players to team Ghat up with his sister, Rimat. Andres Bordeu, co-founder of ACE Team, had this to say:
“The world of Zenozoik is one of wild dreams and wilder nightmares. This is part of the reason we are working on Zeno Clash II, to give players the opportunity to explore Zenozoik with a friend via online cooperative multiplayer, turning those moments of wonder and awe into a shared adventure. We will make certain that going back and forth between solo and cooperative play preserves the consistency and impact of the narrative experience, while still allowing friends easily drop in and out of the game’s fulfilling exploration and visceral melee combat.”
